Did you watch them in order? So good. So good that I paid $$ to watch.

Yeah I just mean that was what they originally planned to do for the camera and the connection, they decided not to when people got angry about it. But as for games, mostly RPGs, I don't know if it does at the moment, but Playstation systems have consistently had a whole lot more of those games available that don't get made on the Xbox. Though the Xbox has consistently had a more enjoyable environment for multiplayer games, mostly because Microsoft packages a headset/mic with the Xbox, which makes finding people to play with in the games you like much easier. Sony has always been mic sold separately so it can be harder to find a party of people to play with. For multiplayer games, the Xbox generally has a better interface for playing with friends and yeah it will certainly make a much better media center than the PS4 will. I think the camera/drm thing may have permanently tainted my taste for the Xbox though. At least until it has an exclusive I really want to play, lol.

Yes, computers are infinitely superior, and I'd likely never glance at consoles again if it weren't for a few titles that remain exclusive to them, probably mostly because the bastards stopped making systems backwards compatible while pc games are generally always backwards compatible if you're willing to work at it. The only problem is that to get the same graphical quality for games as a PS4 or Xbox One on a computer you have to spend significantly more money. Someone asked about whether or not to buy an Xbox and I figured they should know the relevant factors in deciding on a console, and I think this is mainly an issue of what kind of games you're going to play. Also, I tend to take any chance available to mention the ridiculous things like Microsoft wanting an always on camera because I dislike that type of behavior from corporations and also lol wtf were they thinking?

Up front cost might be slightly more expensive (only because Sony and Microsoft sell hardware at a significant loss to get you in). But overall it's cheaper because you can buy PC games for much much less. And you can play those games FOREVER. Not until the next console renders them unplayable due to, like you said, lack of backwards compatibility.

Might be a bit late, and just my penny HIT opinion as a newbie here, sorry if it's not welcome:

One of the things that kept me coming back to lurk and eventually start posting was some of the more personal posts here. It made it easier to relate to people or start remembering things about posters that makes them more like people and less like people working on mturk. That doesn't sound right. Maybe just a sense of community and camaraderie if nothing else, in and out of working.

And at times that detracts from my work, personally, but I'm getting pretty good at scrolling when I need to be working furiously. And I like to read what people have to say when things are slow or when I'm taking a break...while still trying to remain focused/ready to resume clicking at a moment's notice.

I can certainly see why people don't want to read it or how the daily HITs thread may not be the right place. It can be kinda hard to keep up even if everything is on topic. But I'm new and it seemed like the norm so it's not like I know if it's typical, but I didn't think it was a bad thing.

I feel like a lot of turkers are doing this work because of various issues and circumstances that might be important to talk about at times. This forum is helping people turk but I'd like to think some people are helping others with unrelated things. But like I said, just my penny HITs and I hope none of my posts have a negative impact on people working or not wanting to deal with off topic stuff :)

(When people were talking about certain experiences earlier I was gonna make a post about the time my pillow morphed into Dick Cheney and started yelling at me, but I was too busy with a backlog of surveys)

The above being said, I've had a few days in the last 2 weeks that are in my top 5 daily earnings since I started turking and I think this week (or the last 10 days or so as a whole) have been my best week+. So a big thanks to this forum and all its people for helping make my life better. Have a good life out there all.

Edit post: Jeez, that was longer than I realized. Apologies for all the text if you take the time to read it.

We used to call it "my Oscar Smith", but you're probably too young (turk wise) to remember that.

Yeah I know, the reason I started working on Mturk is so that I can build a proper gaming computer, haha more so than food and rent. Right now I'm running on a 2.1 i7 with a 1gig video card, and it's maddening to not be able to play one of those humble bundle indie flash games because the graphics are too much for my laptop. Of course the biggest reason I prefer computers over consoles is emulators, I can still run those :D

Also in regards to the other conversation, I'm also new here, and not certain of whereabouts the rules on general topic of conversation fall on the subject, but I believe that discussion of any kind should be encouraged anywhere. The greatest thing about the internet is being able to share thoughts with a bunch of people hundreds or thousands of miles away in a few seconds. That, and I think that the idea of "polite conversation" might be part of the reason the government in the U.S. is so backwards, people put less emphasis on a few important things that should be able to be discussed with anyone anywhere, like philosophy, politics, life experience and morals/ethics. I've also always kind of thought of most forums and chat rooms as an environment where multiple different people can have multiple different conversations at the same time where you can always just ignore something if you really don't want to see it.

I don't think Oscar Smith was the worst requester, though obviously I wouldn't work for him on a regular basis. He was good in getting #'s or wanting to cross a threshold (5000, 10000, etc.) in HITs.

Oscar Smith may have paid for shit, but they were consistent (always there) HITs that approved and paid within minutes.

Oscar Smith was how I got my first 100. Readabl was how I got to 5000. Then they started randomly rejecting everyone. Then they switched to .10 HITs that sucked. Then they disappeared.

    Good night, beautiful turkers.

If anyone's up around 8 AM Pacific Time tomorrow, feel free to yell at me if I haven't checked in, OK?
