Yeah I am more and more happy that I decided to stop doing John Smiths a long time ago. I can slough off rejections like nothing but no matter what you do no one can easily slough off hard blocks and definitely no way you can easily do it with 2 hard blocks. His pay rate doesn't even make him remotely worth the risk of it.
Is there an easy way to find out from the MTurk site how many hard blocks you have in the last 6 month period?
I'm going to have to stop doing the Smiths/Matts - I've done quite a few of the Smiths over the last little while, and haven't got a block, but I got one block from someone else some time ago (when I started Turking), so another instant 2 would be me out for the count. It seems to me that what is effectively importing someone else's block list would be against the rules, somehow. I do realize the problem would be actually communicating with someone at Amazon about it, but all the same...
Yeah, First Hard Block ever... I'm not particularly worried about it. But still.... What a Jerk. No email, no reason, no anything. I sent him a message, but from the TO's I've read, he's just not responding. Wish I would've been paying more attention on here, didn't know we had an alter ego who took over the requester account. Lame. I really liked doing these, 80 at a time for 3x a day was a decent little bit of change. Oh well. Any reccomendations for non-masters batches for over 5k approved?
You mean with that fancy account page we have where we can see all kinds of hit history/communication with requesters/etc? email is your only hope. sigh.
I'm pretty sure that eventually every single person saying "I've done thousands of Smiths and never had any problems!" is eventually going to get a block. They should be adding "yet" to the end of their statement.

Yeah I did just shy of 2k for him before I decided nope not even remotely worth it and stopped; I was lucky enough to dodge a bullet but I don't think for a second if I was to start up that there isn't a chance I'd be blocked so I avoid them. It helped that the hits along with being only mediocre pay are also boring as hell so was happy to find a justification for not having to do them anymore. But yeah given he can theoretically triple block you using John Smith, John Smith Jr, and Matt I'm going to just stay far away.

Guten Morgen everybody. So with these John Smith/Matt hard blocks. No reason for anybody? My guess is it's got more to do with time of submission than the actual quality of work.
They are the same requester. John Smith has been known to block and it appears he might be reblocking everyone he previously hardblocked on his John Smith account with his new Matt account. He also is probably issuing blocks as Matt unrelated to John Smith blocks
