I did not worry about those because they were for the gamer hits that they usually put up. I did send a strongly worded email to the guy asking about compensation for the extra hour. That hit should have taken at most 45 minutes.
It's still broken I was all excited thinking I was going to get to do one of these hits I've heard about but have never gotten to try...I should have known something was wrong when I grabbed it and there was still 251 of them available!
Looking for the silver lining, that $10 survey added about 50 posts to the thread providing the illusion the forum is still alive. Kidding. Sort of.
I did this survey for 4.50 yesterday. Cannonlab MTURK Account. Someone might want it as a consolation prize, if it's still there
Ill take 50 posts over a broken hit any day compared to 50 useless posts of videos and only about 30 of them unique.
So this just happened: What about those of us that did it and it took 2 hours? And yeah I responded with that email, lol. I knew I should have just submitted it at an hour and been done with it.
Wish I could thank that twice. I have to admit I've been cheating on this forum while it was under the weather, seeing what some of the others are like. And while it can be frustrating here with all the masters and qualed stuff at least the bar is generally set high here. At one nameless alternative, I see people posting lists of what they did all day -- and they all seem to be doing the exact same iffy stuff and all missing some obvious good HITs. At another, people are constantly posting bad HITs, and nobody comes out and says "don't do this." I'll take posts of stuff I can't do (yet) and people who speak their minds any day.
Exactly. I get the same for 2 hours as someone who gave up after 5 minutes. Nice. The feedback I left them in the HIT basically said I didn't see how they could possibly use the data they were getting, so kudos for the academic honesty of not using it. But...
I left this off the original post but looking at it again he does specifically ask people to use it because emails will get lost if you use the Turk function. I would suggest that if you had problems especially those of us that took double the time, to shoot him an email and ask about compensation.
