Great! Glad to hear that you will be posting more!
Yeah! You probably don't want it, what do you think this is, a forum or something? Some kind of "message board"? psssssssh
Definitely the best thing I've read all day. -does my happy dance-
two huge hits for 100's only. are you going to forget that you don't have just 100 qual hitters? i have been doing 100's of your hits and have earned over 100 dollars (about 99 dollars in the last 45 days), haven't received a single message saying i haven't been doing it correctly or a reject and yet i'm still at 50 qual. and now i wonder if i ever will get 100 qual. whatever.
It's not next week yet. They said they'd be back in full force then. The hits you see up now are special ones, they are for different countries (Australia) specifically. They are trickier than the typical ones we normally see. That is why they are for 100 qual only. Patience young grasshopper, I'm sure you'll see some 50 qual ones eventually. Also, many of us with the 100 qual have 5000 or more totw hits done total. I myself have done over 14,000, if that gives you any perspective on the 100 qual.
You have not done 5000K HITs in your entire lifetime, much less 5000K from TOTW. You might have topped 5000 of the TOTWs.
Normally I wouldn’t nitpick it, but the condescension of that grasshopper remark merits it.
I can't believe 20k HITs poofed overnight. -boggled- LOL
How did that happen!? I went to a football game last night, checked my phone and saw there were 20,000 of them up and I was like "Oh sweet, i'll have stuff to work on tomorrow" and they were gone already this AM!
I have NO idea how it happened! I'm secretly hoping maybe they got pulled for some reason? I dunno I did quite a few then bedtime rolled around and there were just under 20k up when I went to bed. Woke up at 6am to get an early start and they were gonnnne.
it was actually closer to 30k, IMO the #'s were going down at normal pace but then more started to load and then they started going down really really really fast. Got to be a glitch, at least I hope.
and FYI theimortal1974, I had over 5000 approved totw HITs of 50 quals before I got moved up to 100, IMO the 100 qual is not the random qualification like masters but one that is earned with quality work.
I drank a ton of coffee and pinched off about 900 from that huge batch from last night till it died early this morning. Twas glorious.
Will Taste of The World be sending out more qualifications? I still never got one X_X
Lol i didn't even realize I put the k there. Edited I don't mind nitpicking, thank you for the correction. However, there also is no need to be rude on imortals part because he hasn't "gotten" what he feels he's worthy of. I was being as nice as possible in my reply to him.
Oh Tasties. It's just not the same when you're not here. -sniffles-
What do we do with no address listed or multiple addresses listed. One said "7 locations in" an area (forgot what area in florida),one had addresses separated by a "/", and one had no address.
Got another question. "Coming Soon" restaurants. How should we classify these? They aren't open yet. Thanks!
What about places not open to the public? Campus dining halls, private clubs, etc?
PS. Can you change your default height from 450 to around 700?
If I come across a listing with two addresses listed, how would you like that handled? Especially when both locations are open and in business?
Just a heads up, the Pizza Hut locator is down at the moment.
Not at present, it isn't.
Someone emailed them about that and the response was to mark it as open if it was set to open in 3 months or less.
I think that would be a good question to put in the FAQs because the scenario has popped up quite a few times recently.
I'm finding a few restaurants in the UK batch that have incomplete addresses, but when I look them up the only address/phone/business name match is actually in the US. For example, a coffee shop marked as "Lincoln, England" with no postal code was found at the same street address and very similar phone in Lincoln, Nebraska.
They're restaurants, the ones I've seen so far are open, but they're not UK. Any suggestions?
Change your Google location to somewhere in the UK. Manually look them up on the UK google site. That's the only thing I can think of.
Closed/Not Enough Information vs. Not a restaurant. Do you have a preference when we are not sure and the place is either closed or not found?
Also, if a place is classified bar or nightlife but NOT restaurant and they seem to serve food I have been listing them as Not a restaurant unless I can find somewhere stating they allow children or families.
Still would like an answer on places not open to the public such as Student/College Eating facilities and private clubs. Also programs such as Meals On Wheels and such.
- Private clubs and other places not open to the public would be not a restaurant since the training guide says "Must be open to the general public" to be considered a restaurant.
- Meals on Wheels programs would not be a restaurant as I believe that's similar to "Catering businesses; Personal chefs" which is not a restaurant.
- I have been marking bars as open/closed as long as they serve food. My thoughts are the training guide says "Places that only serve alcoholic drinks and not food (e.g., some bars and pubs)" are not restaurants. To me, that says that places that serve alcohol drinks and DO have food (e.g., some other bars and pubs) are restaurants. I read the "family friendly" part to mean that it's not a strip club, hookah bar, or cigar bar (again the 3 types of locations that the training guide says are "not family friendly").
- Per an email conversation I had with TOTW, they said if you are unsure if the place is open/closed but it's definitely NOT a restaurant, then mark "not a restaurant". If you're unsure if it's a restaurant or not, but it's either closed/not found, then mark "not enough information".
With the exception of pubs/bars that's what I've been doing. Just wanted to see if they would come around and clarify some of it. Especially since I don't know exactly what they do with this information. I've seen several campus/university cafeterias on here but haven't yet run into any private clubs I don't think. I just realized that I hadn't actually been looking for them. I know that some golf courses while they have restaurants they may be members (sometimes guests) only. I hadn't thought to look.
In the FAQ it says: "How can I tell if a bar should be classified as a non-restaurant?
Look for clues as to whether it serves food and is family-friendly. If there is an official site, look for a menu link. If not, read some third party reviews to see if food in mentioned.'
My thoughts are if it is only tagged as a Bar/Nightclub/Nightlife with no Restaurant tag attached to it then it probably isn't family friendly. I wanted to see what their position on this is.
I ran into a retail/commercial distribution seafood chain that once had a location that looked like it was a cafe that served seafood. Since it's no longer there but may have served food I was wondering if there was any preference or importance in labeling it either closed vs. not a restaurant. Especially if it was a different type of business from it's remaining locations. It may not matter but I thought I'd check. If I run into another odd situation it may give me an insight as to how much the difference matters and whether to spend more time trying to find the answer.
Thanks for your thoughts.
Sometimes I find bars with reviews that don't mention food, and aren't labeled restaurants. I've been marking them not restaurants for lack of clues and hope that's more useful than mistakenly classifying one as a restaurant.
What are we supposed to do as far as restaurants such as http://www.hooters.com/Home/Default.aspx http://www.twinpeaksrestaurant.com/ and http://www.bonedaddys.com/about.aspx ? family friendly is sort of subjective and opinions seem to go either way with these
How can i get a Taste of the world qualification? I am interested to do TOTW hits.
