OKAY, so Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service) is a web storage system offered by Amazon and "Amazon S3 is reported to store more than 2 trillion objects as of April 2013" That was in 2013.

So lots and lots of data is stored there, used by many websites.

    Got it.

Here is something funny: " S3 guarantees 99.9% monthly uptime service-level agreement (SLA),[12] that is, not more than 43 minutes of downtime per month" :p

Netflix, reddit, dropbox, tumblr, pintrest, minecraft and many many others use s3. Wowsers!

But not "wiki, wiki, wiki" from which most of this info comes from.

They didn't say it couldn't be 43 minutes in a row.

A metric fuckton of major companies use AWS. Last I heard, Netflix, Spotify, Instagram, Reddit, the CIA, etc.

Yeah I can't get anything to submit. Woo Hoo!!! I blame our government. I'm sure they are sick of all the bullshit they keep getting called out on and are working on a way to censor the internet. This is probably some random test gone awry.

We should all come together to remove the negative connotation of day drinking.

I don't suppose anyone has the panda for the ocmp5 qual? Does it usually stay up long? I guess I'll give re-qualifying a shot.

Interesting article. Reading Fortune article "Why Amazon Continues to Dominate in the Cloud Storage Wars"

    Seems quaint now!
